When your internet connection plays up, the first question is always the same: is the fault on our network, or somewhere inside yours?
Although it sounds simple, it's often the hardest part of the whole process. Faults come and go. Tests need to run for days to catch anything useful. And by the time anyone looks into it properly, the problem has usually disappeared until the next time.
We built the Little Blue Box to help answer that question before you even have to ask it.
The Little Blue Box is a small diagnostic device we build in-house at Enlink Networks, just for our clients.
You plug it into your router and forget about it. It runs continuous tests on your connection in the background and logs everything. If a problem ever shows up, we already have the data. There's no need to reproduce the fault and no waiting around for it to happen again.
No. The testing uses very little data, around 170MB over a whole day. That's about the same as watching one five-minute HD video on YouTube.
Even on a basic 100Mbps connection, that works out to roughly 0.01% of your bandwidth. You won't notice it.
You could. The tests themselves aren't a secret. But to do it properly you'd need to:
The Little Blue Box handles all of that on its own, and the results go straight to us for analysis.
The Little Blue Box tells us which side the problem is on, quickly. If it's ours, we get straight on with fixing it. If it's yours, we can point you in the right direction (or you can use our custom diagnostic tool) instead of leaving you guessing. Either way, nobody wastes days working out where to even start looking.
