Your equipment in our ultra-reliable secure data centres
Our individual server colocation service is ideal for businesses with just a few devices, providing a secure, high-performance managed environment without the need for larger commitments or extensive setups.
Individual server colocation is ideal when only a few devices need housing in a secure high-availability facility, with fast Internet access, uninterruptible power, cooling, fire suppression, monitoring and 24/7 security. With managed networking included and being able to add servers at any time, this can be more cost effective than a dedicated rack.
Servers which are designed specifically for 19 inch racks are ideal, mounted either with rail kits or rackmount ears:
Rack server with rails
1U, 2U, 3U and 4U rack servers are ideal for data centers due to their compact high-density designs, maximising space efficiency. Hot-swap modular chassis enable easy maintenance to repair and upgrade quickly.
Rackmount device with ears
Smaller 1U rackmount devices (typically routers, switches and firewalls) can be readily and securely installed by screwing their brackets (often called "ears") to the posts.
Whilst being less space efficient, non-rackmount devices can often be accommodated on provided heavy-duty shelves. Such devices include:
Tower PC or workstation
Towers tend to be bulkier than really needed, so are less space efficient, but can usually be installed on their sides and are 4-6U in height, supported on a shelf (some towers can be fitted with rackmount rails). These commonly are taken from existing office environments or may be used in specialist GPU-led applications.
Mini PC
Units such as Apple Mac Mini, NUC, HP Mini, Dell Micro, Lenovo Tiny and Raspberry Pi are small form factor boxes designed for desktops, offering dedicated hardware in a relatively small space. Several units can typically be hosted on a single shelf, so a bespoke quotation is required once the dimensions are known.
Desktop NAS
Network attached storage often comes in rackmount servers, but budget units are often in desktop cases, typically around 4U in height to accomodate 3.5in hard drives. The number which can be housed on a shelf is limited in order that hot-swap drives are accessible for maintenance, which can make these more expensive to colocate than the rackmount variants.
Routers, switches and firewalls
We provide managed switching, routing and (optionally) firewalling as part of this colocation service - but if this is not enough, or you still prefer to supply your own, we can install these alongside your other equipment
All the standard colocation features, plus the following:
Flexible and scalable
Pay only for the space and power that you need, by starting with as little as one server and adding more as you grow
Secure cabinets
Safety, reliability and integrity of your equipment is our utmost concern, so our policy is that nobody except data centre staff will have access to your equipment, for your peace of mind
Managed installation
Once your equipment delivery has been received, our trained engineers will install and connect as per your requirements, check and provide a remote handover - no site visit required
Free power cycles
Remote assistance is available for visual inspections and hard reboots of your equipment in the event of a system crash
Remote KVMoIP sessions
Web browser based VGA, keyboard and mouse sessions are available to assist you with remotely troubleshooting any boot or networking issues hindering normal remote access
Workbench access
If power cycles and KVMoIP aren't enough, and you need to access your equipment in an emergency, technicians will remove your hardware to a workbench or build room for you to repair
Managed networking
Basic switching, routing and optional firewalling is provided as part of the service, reducing the amount of equipment you will need to purchase, deliver and manage yourself
Managed firewall and security services
We offer a managed high-availability next generation firewall platform to help you secure your equipment with best-in-class features and performance, no extra hardware required
Not all colocation services are born equal
Our Tier III (or equivalent) data centres provide power and cooling with multiple redundancies, as well as several other features to ensure reliability, security and scalability.
Use our simple wizard to ensure a quick turnaround of your quote, typically within one business day. If you need additional help or guidance, request a callback.
We may be able to offer you enhanced discounts if multiple services interest you:
