Plug directly into the router

Connect your device directly to your router using an Ethernet cable. This bypasses Wi-Fi and helps rule out most problems with your local network. If possible, temporarily disconnect or switch off other devices on the network as well, in case one of them is using a large amount of bandwidth.

Use a standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable, with one end connected to your router and the other to your device. If your device doesn’t have an Ethernet port, a USB-C Ethernet adapter will often work without any additional drivers, even on many phones and tablets.
